The Timaeus Laptop Appliance
Cmed Technology understands that clinical trials are global, 24/7 operations with widely varying site needs. In response, we developed the Timaeus Laptop Appliance to enable electronic data capture and management (EDC/CDM) from remote out-sourced sites without loss of efficiency due to slow, costly and intermittent data connections.
Work from a standard office configuration, but with fewer distractions
The Timaeus Laptop Appliance is provisioned from a standard laptop, enabling work from a work- and safety- compliant office footprint. It can be provisioned with language-specific keyboards to meet localisation needs.
However, as an appliance, it completely controls installation of local applications. This ensures remote staff are using the device for EDC/CDM only.
Resilience against network outages and slowdowns
The Timaeus Laptop Appliance uses a specially-architected data management model (similar to that used in leading Apple iPhone applications) that provides remote staff full access to required data and functionality whether they are online or off. As a result, clinical trial personnel can continue to electronically capture and manage clinical data without loss of speed and efficiency when they lose network connectivity or experience a network slowdown.
Connect and synchronise in real-time—even with low-speed connections
Timaeus supplements this offline capability with mobile-friendly synchronisation technology that ensures auditable, regulatory-compliant data integrity and enables remote collaboration. As a result, personal at remote sites do not need high-speed (and high-cost) internet connections to resolve queries and perform SDV.
