Timaeus Medical Coding
Timaeus Medical Coding allows terms from the trial to be automatically coded against standard medical dictionaries such as MedDRA and WHO-DRL. The dictionaries can be viewed. Stop words, synonyms and special characters can be added, edited or removed to facilitate the coding process.
Minimised manual coding
The powerful and flexible coding algorithm used in Timaeus produces a high “hit rate” (often exceeding 70%) of automatic coding, reducing coding costs, even for large trials.
Full integration with data management operations
Because Timaeus manages all clinical data, there is no need to extract, feed and reconcile data from EDC to medical coding systems. Coding is able to begin upon receipt of data, thus eliminating the effort required for handoff and integration of data.
There is also no need to extract, feed and reconcile data from medical coding systems to CDM and reporting systems. This eliminates the effort required for handoff and integration of data and enables medical coders to initiate queries for attention by data managers in real-time.
Fully controlled and integrated dictionary maintenance
Dictionaries are maintained by the Medical Coder and do not require system administrator input. Versions can be updated or rolled back during the course of the trial, without any interruption to sites or operations.
In addition, because Timaeus manages trial configuration from a single point, it ensures alignment between eCRF definitions, validation checks, medical codes and report parameters. Whenever study designs change, Medical coders do not have to worry that their coding library will become out-of-sync with data capture, validation and reporting definitions.
